Air Link Rural Broadband of Salisbury MO is looking for a Fiber Optic Splicer to join our team. At Air Link Rural Broadband, you will be joining a family, where we are dedicated to supporting each other and building a positive atmosphere of teamwork.
Installation of fiber optic cable in new and existing conduit.
Terminate, test, troubleshoot and maintain fiber optic networks.
Will need to update and maintain fiber records throughout each project as well as complete weekly paperwork, such as time sheets and vehicle inspection reports.
Will require significant time doing manual labor functions, walking on uneven ground, working in tight spaces and in general, being overall physically demanding.
Must be able to perform heavy physical work and perform duties in a safe and efficient manner.
Must ensure that both he/she and all employees under his/her supervision comply with proper safety standards/ procedures and work practices according to OSHA standards and/or Air Link Rural Broadband, whichever standard is higher.
Must be able to work flexible hours with the understanding that workdays can be in excess of normal hours and some weekend and holiday work may be required.
Experience with fusion splicing, testing OTDR, power meters, and fiber optic terminations
preferred but not required.
Technical Skills preferred: Theory (Telecom), advanced in specialized tools (OTDR, Power Meter,VFL, Fusion Splicer, PMD, CD, ORL), able to view and print traces, advanced spec knowledge, advanced in tool knowledge, proficient trouble shooting skills, and able to complete walk-through.
Must have a clear and valid driver’s license.
Pre-employment drug screen, criminal background check, and clean motor vehicle record is mandatory.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Fiber Splicing: 1 year (Preferred)
OSP construction: 1 year (Preferred)
